Matt went to the house today and took some pictures of where we'll be living in a few days.

The front of the house

Garage (where hay and feed will be stored) A leg of the horse pasture comes up right to the garage to the right of this picture (where the heated water trough will be)

Left side of the house (w/ fenced dog run which we'll probably never use. The landlord also built a heated dog house here!)

Looking at the house from the backyard (with a big brown dog blocking the picture) :)

The good stuff!! Horse pasture! Actually the fenced part you see here is the neighbor's yard. The horse pasture is actually behind their yard and there is a lane (kinda seen on the right, next to the big tree) that goes up to the fence where the horse trough will be and where the horses will be fed.

Looking out our backyard there is the big hayfield and you can see the narrow fenced off area the horses will use to come drink/eat to the left of the snowy path on the left.

The kitchen (made for 6' tall people) :P

Master bedroom

2nd bedroom - this will be Matt's office. It has a Murphy bed!

Our living room

All this for less than what we were paying for a 2 bedroom house in Pacifica!

I'm so excited.. :)

Our first winter with snow!

Here is Isabella in her daytime paddock
"Hello Momma!"

Cute fuzzy horse (ignore the boring view in the background)

Watching the horses in the next pastures

The sun is too bright!!

Umm.. haven't really been riding much (can you tell?)

Messed up picture, but turned out kinda cool. :) Bright sun!

My commute home

We went and visited the farmhouse we'll be renting in January today.. we've got some work to get the fencing together and shelter up, but it's just beautiful and I can't wait to move in!

Happy snowy Monday! This morning I drove the Civic to work after spending 15 minutes scraping ice and snow off of little McZippy. After the big storm on Saturday there is quite a bit of ice on the road which makes for an intrepid journey when on the roads. I've just been driving super slow, not wanting to give Californians a bad name on the roads here. Apparently there is quite a bit of bias against Californians so Matt and I are working on getting our Colorado vehicle registration done, right away!

Speaking of bias against Californians, we got pulled over on Friday night coming home from the company holiday party. FOR NOTHING. Well, the officer's official reason was "one of your brake lights looked brighter than the other". Yeah whatever..

We got quite a bit of a snow dumping all day long Saturday and Saturday night. Being the ignorant Californians we are, we decided to drive up to Longmont on Saturday for a bit of Christmas shopping. I wouldn't say it was seriously blizzarding, but it was definitely lots of snow, big fat flakes, coming down at a good pace. We saw a lot of people in ditches. Once we got up to Longmont (it took us 45 minutes, a normally 15-20 minute drive), we froze our butts off. But not before seeing carolers, watching China stare fascinated at the horse drawn Christmas carriage, and buying a gift for Matt's mom. So it wasn't a completely wasted trip. Oh, and we tried out a cafe which we spotted on our last Colorado house hunting trip which boasted the "BEST SANDWICHES IN THE WORLD" and I gotta tell ya, they weren't the best.

Saturday night was chock full and that evening we took a snowy 2 hour drive into Denver for the Dane Cook show. We ate at Anthony's Pizza and Pasta on California St (which was yummy) and trekked through the snow to the Wells Fargo Theater. The theater wasn't too big - about the size of a college lecture hall so it made for an intimate show. The first thing Dane said when he came out was that it was wierd not having people all around him, that he was used to a center stage. A lady called out that she'd sit behind him so he pulled her from the audience and made her sit on a stool behind him for the first half of the show. Funny guy! Matt and I laughed our asses off.. he was very very funny.

Anyhoo, that was the first of many Christmas presents I bought for Matt. The same night I told him I bought him these tickets he announced his first gift to me - tickets to Saltimbanco! I am sooo excited for this show.. I haven't been to a Cirque du Soleil performance in years! The theater is only 15 minutes away this time so that is a super mega bonus.

Must go back to work.. it's busybusy. Tonight another storm rolls in with "freezing snow and rain", yipes!

One of the things about living in higher elevations is that prepackaged food is always FULL of air (less atmospheric pressure. or more. I forget which). So you have to be pretty careful when opening items to do it very carefully or else it'll mini-explode on you. Point it away or open it slowly. Case in point, the strawberry yogurt I am eating for lunch which is now all over my chest.

HeHEHE!!!
