In my daily perusement of fatwallet, a deal for self-adhesive fake mustaches (12-pack for $2.66 shipped) popped up. That's pretty funny in itself, but even funnier is reading through the replies to this hot deal. I love people. People are so funny.

"Let the mustache rides begin"

"Are they twirlable?"

Blogging from SFO. Scoured the airport for a crossword puzzle book and couldn't find one. What the? What airport doesn't have hoards of crossword and suduku puzzle books? Very strange.

Yesterday was so much fun. Tina and I picked up the girls and went to breakfast at Airport Cafe in Moss Beach. It took about an hour afterwards to trailer down to the Pescadero trail head and when we got there I discovered I had forgotten. my. saddle. girth. This is the part that keeps the saddle on the horse.. kind of crucial. So I created a makeshift bareback pad from a saddle pad, breastcollar, and treesaver.. haha. It worked. But man, after 3 1/2 hours my ass was pretty damn sore. I walked the last mile back to the trailer and I'm glad I did.. my pelvic bones were pretty sore. Hopefully I didn't fuck up Isabella's back too much.

Did you know seat 22 is the last seat on Frontier airplanes? I was supposed to sit in 22C on my second leg of my flight to Chicago, but thanks to my handy dandy laptop and seatguru.com I was able to find that out real quick and have my seat changed. I'm supposed to be seated in row 22 on the way back as well but they wouldn't let me change that without Matt (who I'm flying back with). Must remember to do that next Sunday.

There are these freaky looking pumpkin heads hanging in the airport store that I wish I could take a photo of.. unfortunately my LG vx8600 camera phone isn't working right. :( 2 hours left on my laptop.. gotta get my facebook time in before it shuts down.

Tons of stuff to do before Sunday.

To do list:
Costco run - Kleenex, vitamins, carrots
Oil change - get high mileage oil change
Macy's - browse around for nice professional outfits/shoes for the coming week
Pescadero - ride with Tina, get breakfast at airport cafe in morning
laundry - get all laundry done, probably tomorrow afternoon

Hmm.. is that it?

Got knocked with a $420 vet bill for Isabella's joint injection. OUCH. Oh well, if that's what it takes to have her sound I'll take it.. now I hope more than ever it was a one time thing! :)

After a week of pimple-free goodness (which has been a rarity this year) I have another one that has popped up on my lower cheek. :( Adult onset acne, damn you!

Exciting weekend, Isabella and I completed the 30 at the Cuneo Creek Endurance ride on Saturday. Never again will I drive 6 hours to a ride.. I was way too overzealous because we hadn't done a ride since the Fireworks ride in Santa Cruz last year. Ridestory to come.. I've been really slacking on getting my butt writing. No motivation.

On the homefront, I have flea bites all up and down my legs. Seems like whenever China visits the vet's office we bring fleas home. I've treated her twice with on the spot flea medication and the house has been sprayed with flea medication again last night (twice in the last few weeks). Hopefully this will take care of the little buggers.

Matt has gone to Michigan to spend time with his granny, so I am a free bird until Sunday when I go off to my clinical data manager conference in Chicago. Saturday I may be trailering out with a buddy to ride in Pescadero which should be beeeyotiful!

Red Hole Sun

This morning driving to work the sun was on the horizon, red. No doubt from all of the fires going on in California at the moment. Coworkers that live in SF and Hayward said their cars were covered in ashes this morning. And a ride in Greenville was cancelled.

After a bit of scrambling and discovering that another ride going on this weekend, the NATRC Mt Diablo ride, was cancelled, I found another in Humboldt, the Cuneo Creek Elevator endurance ride was still going on (and most likely going to fill up fast with the Patriot's day ride cancelled). So I faxed in my entry lickity split this morning and hooray, I'm still good to go to a ride this weekend. Must pack mosquito repellent! This will only be a 1 day ride of 30 miles, but it is also an elevator ride.. like the Oakland elevator ride I attempted 2 years ago on our first try at a 50. If Isabella looks good at the end of 30 miles, I can go ahead and give it a try for 20 more miles. Another plus is that temps for this ride are forcasted in the low 70s, much more pleasant than the high 80s (and smokey) for the Patriot's day ride.

But enough about my weekend. All these fires going on are horrible! All around the state.. and in these especially dry times it's so easy for them to spread. I drive past the Burlingame water reserve every morning and see how low the water levels are. Damn you global warming.

Hallelujah, it's September! This month I'll probably be sleeping in my own bed about half the time. It's all about the travel this month starting with this past weekend at Matt's parent's house up in Santa Rosa. We battled the hot temps and managed to stay up there for 3 days. Saturday we helped Matt's dad bottle his 2006 Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Big Red mix, Sunday we helped install a 1 ton shelf into his wine cellar, and basically ate and hung out in the pool the rest of the time.

This weekend is the Patriot's day ride, woohooo!!! This will be our first endurance event of the year.. we'll be taking it easy, going the limited distance route of 30/25 on Sat/Sun. Accuweather is forcasting mid-80s for the ride so I hope it'll stay nice and cool for Isabella's sake. She was running around like a maniac last night in the arena when I turned her out so I know she's definitely feeling good! I love watching her run.. she is just about the prettiest little horse ever to run the planet. :)

Taking it easy tonight.. making a TJ's run for camping food then hosing off the cars. We are so close to being white trash with all the cars we have.. all we need is a car parked on the lawn and perhaps some lawn decor and we're there.
