Today I'm in a fancy hotel in Spokane. This is a relatively new hotel and it looks like it should be in the middle of Johanessburg, South Africa. Or Las Vegas. The ceiling are tall and ornate, with big gold chandeliers. Every single surface of the hotel has some sort of animal skin print - ostrich, zebra, tiger. And don't let me even get started on the stuffed animals. Not the cute and fluffy kind of stuffed. Aside from that, the hotel is quite posh and nice.. with a big soft king-sized bed that I can't wait to sleep in (although I do have to mention there is a ceiling length mirror right behind it).
My plans actually got all messed up by thinking my trip to Washington was going to be tomorrow, not today. This afternoon I was planning on working from home and going to meet Isabella's farrier. I double checked my itinerary at work and found that oops, my flight is today. So I booked it home, got in touch with Matt to see if he could drop me off at the airport, made it to the wrong terminal, hoofed it to the right terminal, and managed to get here in one piece. Hooray!
This should be it for the traveling for now - at least none are planned at this moment. I thought all this travel would be hard, but actually I'm enduring it much better than I thought. My trusty ginger chews keep me from getting airsick and the stress I have making flights, etc, are no more than what I experience at work. The hard part part, I anticipate, will be the cross country trips.. where I'm up for 20+ hours on the way back. I was pretty much running on empty when I came back from Pittsburgh.
That's all for now.. time to watch some plasma screen TV on my leopard skin chaise lounger.
