mpg so far with Zippy:

31
39
33
37

I sense a trend here.. I'm not sure why every other time I fill up my mpg is way more than the time before.

In any case, I'm getting an average of 35 mpg which isn't bad considering the traffic and hills I take Zippy through.

Zippy isn't a permanent name, but I like it - it's cute! Either that or Sofia.

You are a South African bush pilot working for Blue Sky Aviation. You fly in some critical medical supplies then enjoy a quick lunch at the hospital.

It's a stifling 100 degrees in the shade and you're eager to get back up to the cool, high blue yonder.

On the way back to your plane, you discover that the only bit of shade within 1 mile has become very popular . . You start calculating the distance to the plane door and wonder . . .

'Do I feel lucky today?'

Spoiler for the Deathly Hallows. A web chat between readers and JK Rowling that answers many questions about the last book and the series. Quite fascinating!

Speechless...

Once upon a time a gal named Karyn had way too much credit card debt and went online for help. She was funny, quirky, and overall pretty entertaining, so I helped her out. I purchased a nice belt that she had for sale on ebay which I still have to this day - diamond rhinestones and all.

In a bout of nostalgia, I did a website search for her and found that she has written a few books since then and now has her own blog. She is totally funny and cute! Her sense of humor reminds me of Bev and Walt. Sarcastic and dry, but not opposed to bodily functions and making fun of people. My kinda funny.

Spent $241 at the DMV and Matt was right, I do need to get my car smogged. :(

For all the CAPS writers out there..

Leaving for Tevis country this weekend. The world famous 100 mile endurance race/ride begins Saturday morning for 24 hours and I'll be helping with the webcast. Easycare is footing the bill for food/lodging (yay). My friend Jackie takes care of the website and Karen works for Easycare (she has the best job ever, going to endurance rides and writing about horsey products). Temps will be in the upper 90s.. some are saying the hottest year for Tevis yet, which will mean a low completion rate. Hopefully riders will take good care of their ponies!

Stay tuned for live ride updates! http://www.foothill.net/tevis/webcast07/main.html

I'm really excited - this could be my only chance to go to a ride this year (lamelamelame Isabella) and I'll be able to see all my endurance buddies. Speaking of which, I have a vet appt tomorrow for my little lame girl. I haven't ridden her for about a month now and she's still limping. SUcks to be me.

Off to the DMV this afternoon to register my car.. I can't believe I'll be a 2 auto owner. Seems excessive to me.. but I can't get rid of my truck! Ah well. It's better for the environment (and my sanity) to not have to drive the bohemith Oprah all over the place.

Matt and I are talking about going to Yosemite sometime in August for a few days. We haven't camped in a while and I love Yosemite!

Haha, just went to look at my old website. I can't believe it's been 10 years since I made that site.. don't you love the graphics?? At least they're not sparkly and animated. omg so funny. Check it out.

If only I were this clever..

Today I'm in a fancy hotel in Spokane. This is a relatively new hotel and it looks like it should be in the middle of Johanessburg, South Africa. Or Las Vegas. The ceiling are tall and ornate, with big gold chandeliers. Every single surface of the hotel has some sort of animal skin print - ostrich, zebra, tiger. And don't let me even get started on the stuffed animals. Not the cute and fluffy kind of stuffed. Aside from that, the hotel is quite posh and nice.. with a big soft king-sized bed that I can't wait to sleep in (although I do have to mention there is a ceiling length mirror right behind it).

My plans actually got all messed up by thinking my trip to Washington was going to be tomorrow, not today. This afternoon I was planning on working from home and going to meet Isabella's farrier. I double checked my itinerary at work and found that oops, my flight is today. So I booked it home, got in touch with Matt to see if he could drop me off at the airport, made it to the wrong terminal, hoofed it to the right terminal, and managed to get here in one piece. Hooray!

This should be it for the traveling for now - at least none are planned at this moment. I thought all this travel would be hard, but actually I'm enduring it much better than I thought. My trusty ginger chews keep me from getting airsick and the stress I have making flights, etc, are no more than what I experience at work. The hard part part, I anticipate, will be the cross country trips.. where I'm up for 20+ hours on the way back. I was pretty much running on empty when I came back from Pittsburgh.

That's all for now.. time to watch some plasma screen TV on my leopard skin chaise lounger.

In Pittsburgh for work. Initially I was supposed to observe my supervisor do the training herself so next week in Washington I would go solo, but unfortunately she is stuck at JFK so I am doing the training solo. Then I found out *all* of the other trainers are stuck in New York so I may have to do the whole training myself! Eeek! I'm not too nervous about it - maybe I'm in denial? But the whole situation is just crazy!

Transformers was fucking awesome. If you haven't seen it yet, GO SEE IT NOW!!! :) One of the most fun movies I've seen in so long.. and Harry Potter comes out today! Good movies. Hooray summer!

In horsey news I'm taking Isabella to Steinbeck Equine Hospital on Friday. She came up lame again this past week so I'm just biting the bullet and taking her to Salinas. It'll probably cost me a fortune (which I can't really afford because of the new car) but it's just gotta be done. I've been dealing with this for a year.. which really sucks. No rides. :(
