Bo Bice Digs Drugs [11:38 // 04.28.2005]

Bo Bice completed drug diversion program after 2001 Alabama bust
APRIL 28--One of the five remaining "American Idol" finalists was once arrested for felony cocaine possession, but had the charge dismissed last year after completing a so-called "diversion program" for first-time offenders, The Smoking Gun has learned. Harold "Bo" Bice, 29, was busted in June 2001 by Huntsville, Alabama cops and hit with the drug count, a Class C felony, according to the below warrant (Bice posted $1000 bond and was released from the Madison County Jail).

Still can't believe Constantine was voted off (yes, I did write about it Matt-dear) ;) I think the song that he sang last week was terrible, but still! Oh well, he wasn't going to win so I guess he needed to get voted off sometime. And what's up with Scott in the top three.. that's crazytalk.

Friday night: Matt and I, after much discussion ;) went and saw Sin City. It scared the holy bejeezus out of us! That movie is way scary and very very wrong.. I recommend it highly if you care for freaky images burned into your skull for the rest of your waking and non-waking hours.

Saturday: Despite rumors of rain, I had a lovely rainfree ride on Isabella in the morning. We went for about 4 hours including climbing the MOTHER of all mountains which Isabella did without any problems. She's fitter than I thought! We would've gone longer but the trails we were headed out on were crappy! Maybe I've been spoiled with East Bay trails, but the ones around Pacifica are pretty horrible (ie, big gullies, very rocky, steep, narrow).

In the afternoon we headed over to Amit's for some BBQ. Yummy.. it was nice catching up with everyone. I spoke with Matt afterwards about how much I miss hanging out with them and how I got sad listening to them talk about times without me.. poop. I guess there's a trade off.. :( In the evening we stopped by Mark's to drop off some hot sauce I picked up for him in Florida and the Winged Migration DVD. We noticed that the shitake mushroom log I got him for Christmas had sprouted a huge fungus spore (or whatever terminology fungologists use) and Mark pan fried it right then and there. I had a bite, it was tastey.

Sunday: Got Isabella's feet trimmed by a natural barefoot trimmer and then we went to Dream Machines where Matt took tons of pictures while I played around with my new phone. After getting my first sun burn of the season, I took a nap and we took a mini hike up a hill near Sharp Park.. it was quite loverly.

This morning while I was kissing Matt goodbye he told me I was acting wierd during the night.. he would dream where he'd be asking me a question and he would awaken to me answering him outloud in my sleep. WTF? I find it strange that I talk in my sleep in the first place.. but answering his questions now? Totally bizarre!

Went out for a nice little ride on Isabella tonight. I pushed her a bit, asking her to trot up the long hill to the top - my heart rate monitor was acting funky so I don't think it was very accurate. One moment it said she was below 59 bpm, the next over 160. So blech on the heart rate monitor. Anyways, she was panting when we reached the top so she just confirmed to me that we're probably not ready for the hilly Coe trails on the Diablos ride on May 7th. I'll cancel our ride entry tomorrow.

The ride itself was nice.. not too windy. The trails were very overgrown and I was thinking as my legs/feet brushed against the overgrown flora that it would be an *excellent* spot for ticks to hop on to a convenient host, meaning me. I sat on the couch tonight thinking about that and my scalp began to tingle.. I ran my fingers through my hair and a tickle ran from the top of my head to my forehead.. my hand traveled to rub at the tickle and 'lo and behold, the tickle was a TICK!!!
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
So I've gone over myself about 5 times now, even in the nooks and crannys to make sure I am not playing host to any blood sucking parasite. YEECH!! THANK GOD IT DIDN'T BITE ME!! OMG YUCKKKKKKKK!!!

I'm skipping tonight's American Idol to talk about Sex and the City. I've been watching reruns of them on TBS and Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda have become my pseudo friends. Yes, I have my real friends on the other side of the bay.. Amit, Walt, Laquel, and Merima.. but I get to see the Sex and the City girls every week so they're becoming near and dear to my heart. I seem to cry almost every episode, this time being Miranda proposing to Steve and then Samantha discovering she has breast cancer and having to break the news. Okay, what's wrong with me?? I think I need to interact with real people more often.

In the airport.. on our way home. Byebye Florida! Just as the weather was cooling down and was becomming more bearable we're leaving. *poop* Ah well, I enjoyed myself and I think Matt did too.. the vacation was a bit draining though, it's a little tiring going different places all the time. Traveling wreaks havoc on the digestive system.. :o

Today was a loooong day. We woke up at 10:30 (very early for us, about 2-3 hours early for us) and played 9 holes of golf with Matt's parents. My shots were quite hilarious (to me). I had many swing-anna-miss's. Eventually I got the hang of it after not having played for a year and got a few solid whacks in. At the last whole, Matt's dad lent me his King Cobra driver. The hole was parallel to the road and I managed to hit it REALLY hard and low.. it looked straight for a while, but then the ball curved nicely over the bushes into the road. I couldn't stop laughing hysterically - his parents probably thought I was crazy. Fortunately we didn't hear any loud braking or windshields cracking.

Afterwards we went to the Sawgrass Recreation Park for a nice little airboat tour. Matt's dad got totally into it and hurried so we could sit in the front row of the boat. It was great for about 30 seconds then the captain of the boat accelerated in to the wind and we got SOAKED!! We sped into the everglades full speed and I was trying not to shiver.. I was drenched from head to toe and clinging onto Matt's arm for warmth. The rest of the ride was pretty cool after we dried off a bit. The captain was pretty amazing - he'd be able to spot a gator hundreds of feet away and he'd take the boat within a few feet of it. We saw two today, but the guide told us normally there are about 350,000 gators living out in the section of everglades we toured today.

There are quite a few old people here in Florida. Actually, 95% of the places we've been to, we've been the youngest patrons there (without an adult chaperone). Tonight we went to this nice French restaurant and as soon as we walked in we noticed that everyone in there either had white hair or was lacking in hair. I think we were about 1/3 the age of the average patron in the restaurant. Hmm.. and everywhere you go, the parking lots are full of Oldsmobiles and Cadillacs. Nice.

On Thursday, Matt and I had access to the rental car and we headed to Lion Country Safari which was just AWESOME!! We took plenty of video and pictures which I'll upload when we get back. Basically, you stick a CD in your car and just drive around all these different lots with different animals living in their natural environment. We saw antelope, zebra, ostriches, lions, and rhino's. It was one of the best times I've ever had.

Tomorrow we play golf with Matt's parents which should be pretty damn funny. I haven't played golf in about a year so hopefully they'll have a large stock of golf balls.

Copied from an email written to the gang:

I'm in Palm Beach, Florida at the moment, writing from the hotel lobby. It's hot as fuck here.. and so humid! ugh! Matt and I woke up at about 11am today after getting in the red eye flight from Los Angeles with an hour lay over in Atlanta. It was rough.. my seat didn't recline back and I slept next to this fat chick so I didn't get much sleep at all.

It's nice though - Matt's family is paying for everything so we've had quite a few really nice meals and today we went to Butterfly world which was amazing - imagine butterflies of every color plus an aviary full of lorikeets and hummingbirds. We even got to feed the huge fish they had at the lake (if the ducks didn't eat them first). My favorite thing was throwing food at the fish right in front of the ducks so the ducks would peck at the fish's heads. HAHA. Hilarious.

Tonight we may go for a swim and we're definitely walking to burn off all of this food.. I may come back 15 pounds heavier with this food we're eating, crikey!

In two days I'll be headed to LA for my best friend from high school's wedding. It's hard to believe, but most of my high school and junior high friends are married now and starting families. Crazy deeky. I suppose if I were in their situation it would feel natural.. but here I am, more than content with my job, riding Isabella and pursuing horsey activities, and spending time with friends and especially Matt. This feels natural to me.

I've been thinking a lot about the future lately. Where will I end up in 5 years? When Matt and I are together, we are sickeningly loving towards each other.. :) Telling each other every few moments what it is we find in each other so endearing and exciting enough that makes us miss each other when we're apart. I just saw him on Tuesday, kissed him goodbye as I left for work Wednesday, and here I am Thursday.. missing him even though I'll see him again tomorrow. I wonder if I'll feel that in a year.. in 5 years.. in 10 years. It certainly feels, 10 months from when we first met, like that feeling is long from subsiding.

After we attend Miho's wedding, we're headed off to Fort Lauderdale to meet up with his parents and extended family. I'm a bit nervous, but I'm looking forward to week of doing nothing but relaxing without any responsibilities.

I had a fabulous ride on Isabella last night.. hopefully I'll get another ride in Friday and/or Saturday before we leave. I love my horse, I love China, I love Matt. :)

American Idol update:
Scott: I was kind of a fan before, but last night's performance sucked. He'll be gone soon.
Constantine: I'm a fan of his, but the crooning thing is getting a little old.
Carrie: Horrible choice in song.. so cheesy. Still a big fan though.
Vonzell: Something about her voice makes me want to dig my fingernails into my eyes and gouge my eyeballs out.
Anthony: Holy crap, he was so bad.. I want to give him a wedgie.
Nikko: Decent, but not my kind of music. I'm over it.
Anwar: I don't like his voice.. very nasaly and he reminds me of Milli Vanilli.
Bo: This week's performance was bad.. he seemed like he was being forced to sing the song and it just didn't look right, him singing show tunes.
Nadia: I don't like her smarmy attitude. She needs to go.

I sound pretty bitter eh? Carrie, Bo and Constantine are the only reasons why I watch anymore.

This weekend's clinic was very helpful.. Isabella was the star pupil. Everyone loved her! And what's not to love.. we need to work on our flexibility, but overall she did great. Both of us learned quite a bit.. on Saturday we even got her to lie down on cue. Here's a picture of us taken on Sunday. I look pretty tired and haggard.. which I was. It was a long weekend, and that evening's drive back to Pacifica was trying. We drove back in the middle of a storm with gales of strong wind and rain pelting down on the truck and trailer. That sucked because the trailer window got shattered last week somehow and after I was done with Isabella I had to tape up the window even though I was tired and wanted to go home.
