On Saturday, December 28th, Lizette, Mark, Mom and I went to Penske Toyota to purchase Lizette's first new car. She had her heart set on a silver Toyota Echo, affordable, yet nice looking! She had been driving a rose colored Integra which had originally been my car after the accident I had in my 4runner. The Integra was on its last leg, having been hit numerous times by idiots.
The lot had quite a few cars, including a Porsche which I considered trading my truck in for.. but then, how would I pull my horse trailer? The salesperson drove us over to the second lot which had the Echos.
Very good gas mileage as you can see below. My truck gets about half that. :( I'm not in any of the photos because I was taking pictures.. but you can see my reflection in this one (and half of Mom's boobs).
So my sister didn't even want to get the test drive because she knew this was HER CAR. She had done a lot of research on it because she is anal like that.
So we waited. A lot. Mark and I went to the Jack in the Box nearby and got breakfast. We set up camp in their lobby and ate. People looked at the wierd Korean family eating Jack in the Box in the middle of the showroom.
Finally, they were done with the paperwork and Lizette owned her first car! Doesn't it suit her well?
So finally after about 2 1/2 hours or so we were set and ready to go. The Echo is small and cute.. with lots of headspace. My brother doesn't hit his head anymore when we go over bumps in her car. Too bad the brain damage over the years from this isn't reversible.
