I'm being cautiously optimistic. This morning I went for a 7 mile ride with Isabella. Earlier this week I hopped on her bareback and trotted her around the farmer's fields and she felt even. On our ride today she felt even. She hasn't felt even in AGES! Hooray (shhhh).

Debating whether to take it easy or go up to the Shamrock ride in Wyoming over July 4th and do a few days of the 30. I might just do one day and come back depending on how Isabella is holding up.

Josey on the other hand (changed her name from Penny to Josey. Penny was her previous foster mom's name and I heard she didn't like her - the horse - very much), is in recovery from lameness as well. She tweaked her right hind when the family came to visit and last Sunday she was still off on it. So she will have a few weeks off.

While I was riding today I came across the concept of one day having two sound horses.. and that day might come in a few weeks. What will that be like?? It boggles the brain.

The mosquitoes here are terrible so I don't get much riding in when I come home. During dusk, they come out in clouds and they just love me. Matt doesn't even have one bite.

Work at the moment is quite stressful. There are other issues involved that I won't delve into here, but it has been very trying at the moment. I'm doing my best not to burn out and so I'm trying to stick to reasonable work hours and forget about it in the evenings and weekends.

China went to get her rabies shot last week - she was 85.6 pounds!! She lost about 10 pounds since her surgery, no doubt from all the running she does in this house. Too many squirrels and rabbits to chase, not enough time.

Off to Costco.. ciao!
