Haven't been feeling too well the past week or so. I stopped taking one of my medications on Saturday and have been experiencing the WORST horrible withdrawal effects, even though I weaned down like my doc suggested. Severe nausea, dizziness, foggy mind, and worst of all, zaps in my head every time I turn or move. There's no good explanation for this except imagine that you're being electrocuted for 1/2 a second. Or, imagine that feeling when your foot is asleep.. now magnify that by 100 and imagine that it's all over your body. It really sucks. During this withdrawal, I've been reading up on this medication with the help of Google and I can't believe the tons and tons of negative experiences people have had getting off this medicine. One person described, "Getting off XXX has been by far the worst experience of my life. I would enjoy a colonoscopy performed by Edward Scissor Hands more than coming off of XXX." That's about right.
Right now I'm on Benadryl, which helps with the constant zapping, and anti-nausea medication prescribed by my doc. Benadryl effectively blocks the cytochromes which are responsible for breaking down this drug in the body.. so it temporarily makes you feel better. It's more of a band-aid than anything else. I'm going through this 2-week body cleansing system and I'm going to stop by the health store again today to buy some omega-3 and flax seed to see if that'll help flush this evil evil drug out of my body.
I can't wait to feel normal again. For the first time in a long time I've felt that life is really good. It's very frustrating wanting to do something simple like go to the bookstore, or take a nice long ride on my horse, but can't because of this ordeal I'm going through.
Oh well, gotta maintain a positive attitude. It's Friday and a 3 day weekend ahead which I get to spend with my Matty. It could be worse.

Be strong, Julienne!!! I'm sure it'll be tough (I can't even wrap my head around what you're going through), but you have all of us to help you through it. Want me to come over and practice rolling dice with you? :P
I'm feeling better this week.. we went to see Jack & Barbara and I was treated by them. I still get the brain zaps but they're more of a slight annoyance now and not so all-encompasing as they were last week. I rode Isabella today and didn't feel any brain zaps at all.. but just that week of not doing much and being tired all the time had its toll - I was sweating like a mofo!
You hang in there... lemme know if you need a leotard made out of the patch.
