Have I mentioned that Matt and I are newbie curling enthusiasts? I may have written about our newfound love for curling during the Winter Olympics earlier this year, but I think it bears repeating how great curling is to watch. The way their bodies jiggle as they rough up the ice, the way they yell so nonsensically at each other, the exhorbitant prices people pay for curling supplies. It's all so novel and wonderful.

As Walt putputted around the mini golf course last week at the Malibu Grand Prix company event last week, Matt and I curled for him, aiding in his efforts to get his ball in the hole. It was good times. The whole evening was so much fun.. we had really bad Top Dog hotdogs (which caused indigestion in 3/4 participants) and got to have a run around the go cart track. I was particularly happy that I broke my 70 second time from last year with my best time being 68 seconds. Woot! Matt had a crazy record of 58 seconds.. which was one of the fastest time recorded. My right arm was pretty sore the next day from playing so many shooting games (video games were all free) and Amit hit a young girl with the air hocky puck. This was not good times, my friends, this was great times, especially when young children get hurt (Matt also elbowed a young boy in the head).

On Saturday Devil's slide was closed because of debrie in the road, so I circumvented the barn and went through Half Moon Bay up the coast to see Isabella. I had another good ride in the saddle I have on trial (pictures are in my flickr account if you really want to see the saddle fitting photos). I placed an offer on the saddle today so please keep your fingers crossed that the gal accepts my price! Searching for a new saddle is such a pain in the ass, you have no idea.

Sunday I recruited Amit to help us work on Isabella's pasture. I bribed him with yummy breakfast from Kerri's Cafe and Halo. Home Depot had a brand new weedwacker with razor sharp edges and clearing out the remaining part of the field took about half the time it did before. We cleared the logs out and called it a day. To top off the most delicious breakfast, we introduced Amit to the Philly hoagie sandwich from Columbo's deli.. which is just pure heaven on earth. Amit also bought some ice cream cones and we basically stuffed ourselves full. The boys proceeded to play several hours of Halo while I passed out. It was definitely a day of gluttony.

Which leaves me to today.. today I'll be at Curves filling out my membership form! I really need to get some activity in. Butterfly life is an extra 5 minutes down the road but I think just that little bit of extra driving time would be enough to dissuade me (even though they have classes at Butterfly life). So I'm signing up for Curves.. woohoo! Time to get this big butt into shape.

i swear that kid hit my elbow with his head. in any event, the abundance of free video games made him soon forget the injury.

i credit the speed of work on sunday to amit..
