This weekend Bob and I finally set a date and location for our MUCH waited for wedding ceremony and reception. We went to Palmdale Estates thinking it was going to be our place. I had a feeling once I saw the picture that it was meant for us... so on Saturday we take the 45 minute drive to visit. I was so utterly disappointed when we arrived. The freeway noise was so loud that you couldn't hear the officiant of the wedding ceremony (there was one going on when we visited). I was completely bummed out and very sad.

So I go back to the web and do a search for private estates that are available for wedding sites and find this place. Elliston Winery is a small little family owned estate with a beautiful mansion and reception hall. The little town of Sunol looks like it was kept in the 1940s with the town saloon and railroad track. There is a small little church on the outskirts of the community and the homes there are so beautifully quaint they took my breath away. We met up with Heather, the onsite wedding coordinator and she gave us a small tour of where the ceremony and reception would take place. The ceremony is to the left of the house as seen in the photos under a large oak tree and a wooden arch. The bride's ready room is on the second floor of the mansion and she goes through a private exit to make her entrance down the steps to the arch. The view is undescribable. There are mountains on either side with green trees everywhere and the site is surrounded by grapevines, roses, and flowering trees.

The reception room is equally as amazing. You look up and see a huge magnificent vaulted ceiling with windows up above and one side of the room is clear glass, looking out into the mountains with only the color green. The ceremony will be May 4th, Sunday afternoon.

Well, this has been the one positive thing that has happened so far.. I've been really stressed lately with everything going on. Lizette's going through some really life-changing tough times right now.. so I'm very worried about her. Please send happy thoughts her way.. if I get her permission maybe I'll tell you guys about it.
