Isabella's update:
Yesterday I went to take her out like I usually do.. I'd been gone for the past couple days for a wedding and my friends had been taking care of her for me. She looked BEAUTIFUL.. with more weight than I've ever seen on her, summer coat mostly in so she looked sleek and glossy. Her body hair is coming in lighter and almost white but her main/tail/legs have remained black.
I opened the gate to pasture and let her walk out so I could put the halter on her.. another boarder was putting his horse back into pasture and commented on what a good girl she was (she was basically loose and stood there while I closed the pasture gate - I don't normally do this but a bully was beginning to approach her from behind and I let her walk out to get away from the boss mare). I put the halter on her, groomed her.. then let her loose in the arena while I got her food ready. Well, she managed to escape while Bob was putting Tavi in the arena and she began cavorting around the barn, head high, snorting, tail flipped over her back, just bouncing around trotting like arabs can.
As she was running around the property snorting, Bob and another boarder were trying to catch her.. and the bad mommy that I am, I just stood and watched her, laughing.. just thinking, how incredibly beautiful she is.. I'd never seen her so full of spirit! She wouldn't let them catch her.. but I knew she'd settle down eventually. She finally came to rest by the gate, head high, snorting at me as I approached her. She looked gorgeous.. I gave her a little pet then opened the arena gate wide for her and she trotted in to play around with Tavi. I wish I had a camera to capture that moment..
I'm so incredibly blessed. *sigh* Not only having a beautiful creature so attached to you, but knowing that they are so full of spirit and life.. and to see them express their happiness is a feeling compared to nothing else in the world.
Oh yeah, Sandi was in her house and she sees all this going on.. and yells out, "I GUESS SHE'S SOUND AGAIN NOW, EH???" hahahaa
